I needed a birthday card for co-worker for tomorrow, so I pulled out one of the owls I made on Saturday and used a similar design. What do you think?
This is almost entirely a Stampin' Up card and a strap of DP. I used the bird and owl punches and a corner rounded and black, white, Basic Grey, and textured Pacific Point papers. The embellishments and sentiment are from Micheal's.
Cheers,
Jo

Owls and mushrooms
Somehow my weekend flew by with a lot less productivity than I was hoping for. Oh well! I did get a couple of cards made Saturday, and some other projects started.
One's for my friend in Ontario:
I used a random scrap of brown paper, with the Ripple background stamp from Local King Rubber Stamps. White and Pacific Point Stampin' Up paper and the mushroom stamp from Funky Four (with some markers), and the Amuse sentiment. The embellishments are from Micheal's.
I made a bunch owls last night, then only made one card...more owls cards coming soon!
This is almost entirely a Stampin' Up card, with the sentiment from There She Goes, and a strap of DP. I used the bird and owl punches and a corner rounded. The eyeballs are the same embellishments used above.
Does anyone have anyone any suggestions for taking better pictures of my cards?
Cheers,
Jo

Not very crafty this week
I just realized it's been a week with no post - I haven't been playing with paper this week, but I plan to see the girls for Crop Club tomorrow. Maybe I'll have something fun to share afterwards.
The weather this morning was a bit of a shock. Fortunately I can walk to work...and I had some fun snapping photos on my Blackberry along the way.
Bastion Square was all dressed up in white, with pedestrians walking in single file to keep their feet dry.
And I'm amazed I was able to catch the intersection of Government and Fort at 8:30 this morning with no traffic! Isn't downtown Victoria great?
Cheers,
Jo

Pink tree, with love
Here's my first try at a double blog challenge, There She Goes colour challenge (TSG38) - kraft, vanilla, and pink, and Glenda's Random Amusing Challenge #103 (GRAC103), make a card for someone you love. This one will be going as a late Valentine's to my mom, who's in Mexico at the moment.
Got to love TSG's Treemendous set! And the fact that my sister got me this great pink paper at the Dollar Giant. It was hard to photograph though - I definitely have to learn how to take better photos of my cards.

Jo

Silver tree
I had troubles with this card to start, until I thought of using silver glitter on the tree. Now I'm quite happy with it - although I'm not happy about the photo of it!
The tree and winter stamps are from the Local King Rubber Stamp, Seasons 4 set. The miss you stamp is from There She Goes. The paper is Stampin' Up - grey and white. And I used black embossing powder and a sliver glitter glue pen that I got ages ago, before I started stamping. I used white ink under neither to make it stand out more.
Plain and simple - and I like it.

No longer half finished
Last night, I finished a bunch of cards that had been challenging me. It was a great feeling.
I'd coloured the dragonfly and spiral a while ago and challenged myself to use more pink. These came together and I'm pretty happy with the result. The green offsets the pink well.
I've been hoarding this cherry blossom paper for a long time. It came in a mixed pack of odds and ends of Japanese origami paper and was definitely the treasure in the pack. Since I saw my first cherry blossoms of the year this week, it seemed appropriate to use it now.
I love this Local King Rubber stamp set. I kept thinking this card needed more, but I'm glad I stopped when I didn.
And again, I was challenging myself to use pink. I stamped the floral image first (thanks again, Local King). Then I remembered the ribbon - and used my new border punch (EK) - and it all came together.
This was a very productive week for me and my paper play!

Here are last week's cards. I decided bring the pencil crayons went I stamped with the girls. These are both TSG sets and use Stampin' Up paper. (I need to work on my masking...next time!)
